My own PHILMONT
2006 PHOTOS, page 8
Firing up the blacksmith's forge.
I got in the picture of Baldy, on the new trail down to Copper Park.
The BLACK MOUNTAIN CABIN SONG by George Michaels was written AT and ABOUT French Henry.
The Staffer said,
Staffer teaching the fine art of gold panning.
Nothin' in here, but I WANT some! Me too!
Got any Color?

“Doc” Walker was Camp Director at French Henry
in 1975, when he wrote this song, about that camp.
On the summer of ninety three, me and my poor boys
workin' French Henry, diggin' and a-blastin' and a-drillin'
all the while. Gold has caught my spirit and commands
my whole life style.
* CHORUS *
But the waters of the South Ponil are flowin' by.
The wind has caught the aspens and the sunlight fills
the sky. I can see the moonlight shining.
I can hear those miners mining...
Staffer teaching the fine
art of gold panning.

If you just dig down to
bedrock you WILL
find gold here.
